WOMAN SERIOUSLY BURNT AT NEWPORT. A single young woman, named Honora Barry living at homeme with her parents in Reform- buildings, Newport, was admitted to the infirmary there on Monday, suffering from severe burns about the body, the result of a pernicious habit of reading in bed. She had, it appeared, been reading by the light from a candle, and having dropped asleep, the candle overturned and set the bedclothes on fire. She was enveloped in flames before she awoke, and then her night-dress had caught fire, and she had sustained a large superficial injury. When she was taken to the infirmary she was in a serious state, her condition being considered almost hopeless. https://newspapers.library.wales/view/4322016/4322023/132/
